There is great satisfaction in converting something that is rusty and hasn’t worked for a long time into a practical item that is still capable of many years work

Tools 'n' Things is a small company specialising in the buying and selling of second hand usable and collectable joinery and allied workworking/trades hand tools, based on the outskirts of Penrith in Cumbria.

The company was established over 20 years ago when it's owner, John Rogers, as a governor at his children's school, helped to raise funds for the school by organising car boot sales and when some tools were donated for a sale and they sold easily he realised the potential.

John then started to go to car boot sales himself to look for old tools and it was at an antiques fair that he realised old tools were highly regarded among like-minded people.

At the moment, John trades regularly at Colin Caygill Antique Fairs across Cumbria, the North East and Scotland where he buys and sells his "Tools 'n' Things". For full details of where he will be at next please visit the where to find us page.
